Port of Susak
This unavoidable part of island village is the first thing a newcomer will set his eyes on as he disembarks. Susak’s harbor is typical in every way: it’s almost empty during the winter and packed in the summer.
There are three piers: a main, small and a pontoone peer - they are called by that names.
The big piers is the place where the people arriving by boat first set their foot on the island. It encloses the harbor from the north protects it from the Bura wind. At it’s base there are ruins of on old dilapidated winary building, which welcomes the newcomers to the Susak.
The small pier encloses the harbor from the east. Yachts visiting Susak are anchored along it’s inner side.
The pontoone pier is the newest one and is home to many yachts and smaller boats which visit Susak. It’s supported by concrete pillars, making it less then ideal protection of the port from the eastern winds.
All in all, there’s not much to see.
